Canadian-made robots sort through one billion trading cards

Calgary, AB – As of today, TCG Machines' global fleet of robots have collectively sorted one billion trading cards – that’s 2,000 tons of cards!

TCG Machines is a Canadian technology company that manufactures the world’s fastest trading card sorting machine, the PhyzBatch-9000. To help visualize the magnitude of this accomplishment, if 1,000,000,000 trading cards were stacked together in a single vertical column, it would measure 321 km [200 miles] high – extending beyond our atmosphere and into outer space! In terms of mass, 2,000 tons of trading cards would need a terror of over 200 adult Tyrannosaurus Rexes to balance a weighing scale.

“At present, our machines are processing two million cards per day. That’s four tons of cards every day! While impressive, this is barely a drop in the bucket compared with the tens of billions of new trading cards which are produced each year by Hasbro, The Pokémon Company, and others,” said Gordon, noting that things aren’t slowing down anytime soon.

“Our company has doubled, or better, our revenues for six consecutive years, and 2026 will be our seventh year fitting that pattern. We have over 450 card sorting robots active in 24 countries, and we recently hired our 40th full-time employee. Earlier this year, we moved our operations into a dedicated 15,000 sq ft facility here in Calgary to increase our production capacity and house our rapidly growing team. This goes to show you the size, health, and growth of the global trading card industry.”
